We're getting a Shed!!!
Since 2017, the Stronger Country Communities Fund has provided $500 million for more than 1,900 local projects that make regional communities even better places to call home. The Stronger Country Communities Fund continues to deliver grassroots projects that reinvigorate our rural communities in every single Local Government Area in regional NSW.
We are super excited to announce that our application to fund the building of our very own Club House / Boat Shed has been successful!

It's been a long haul for our Club, and we mean literally a long haul! The Kempsey Macleay RSL Club have been very generous for many years allowing us to store our boat in their Greenkeepers shed, however this is almost 1km from our beautiful river, so every session we haul the boat on a hand trailer down to the river, and then back again... it can be a little dangerous, considering we need to do this on a public road.
What will we do with the funds?
The project consists of the construction of a new multi purpose facility which will be
located within the Riverside Park area, close to the Macleay River. The building will primarily
be used as a Club House which will include safe change rooms with toilet amenities for our
members. The building will also be used to store the club's two dragon boats, trailers, ceremonial dragon heads and drums used in competition. Storage area for life vests and paddles will also be provided. An additional mezzanine area is allocated for Club meetings, workshops and storage for trophy cabinets.
Watch this space!
We cant wait to get started on this project! It will mean so much more to us than all of the practical things... good things on the horizon for KMDBC!!
